| The genocide and purposeful deportation policy of Armenian nationalists and their supporters against the Azerbaijanis conducted over XIX-XX centuries were engraved in the Azerbaijani history as sorrowful pages. The aim of this repulsive policy was to evict the Azerbaijanis from their historical lands, and to create on this territory the so called state of “Great Armenia”, following the falsified concept of the Armenian historians and ideologists. In order to realise this plan, compliant with the concerns of some states, numerous organisational, ideological, military events were held and different means were used. |

| Seventeen years have passed since the terrible day which was the part of the genocide policy of Soviet Empire against Azerbaijan, resulted in gross violation of human rights and freedoms and remained in the history as January 20 tragedy. This tragedy is one of the most heinous crimes, violent and inhuman treatment and torture actions ever seen in the history of the XX century which resulted in and was observed as the gross violation of human rights reflected in the memory of Azerbaijani people. As it was not only an aggression against separate individuals, but a military aggression against Azerbaijani people. |
